CASE HISTORY Victoria and Albert Museum Kensington, London
The Brief The main contractor wanted to commission a joinery company that could produce extremely high quality joinery while at the same ensuring that the finished articles would blend in with the existing woodwork both in look and feel. One of the main considerations was an exacting and short lead time. The project consisted of manufacturing banqueting seating, doors and frames including upgrading to the correct fire ratings. The Solution The challenge the contractor had was finding a company that could not only meet the stringent deadlines but could also produce the items to the required standards. Because of our in-house CNC machine we were able to meet all of the conditions required. All the woodwork was produced in American Black Walnut with a special American Black Walnut veneer. Finishing and polishing was done on site to ensure it matched the existing woodwork. Because of the prestigious nature of the project all items had to be produced to the highest standards with very exact fitting specifications. By using our CNC machine together with our traditional joinery expertise we were able meet all requirements. The Results The contractor was extremely pleased and relieved to have found a company that could meet all the requirements and deadlines necessary.
